The Robert L. Milligan Leaders in Business Lecture Series

THE LEADERS IN BUSINESS Lecture Series was created in 1992 through a generous endowment established by Robert L. “Bill” Milligan ’22 and his wife, Mary. Bill Milligan was a longtime OWU trustee and had a distinguished career in the Pure Oil Company, becoming president of the company in 1954. He served as chairman from 1965 until his retirement in 1971.

The Ohio Wesleyan Alumni Board of Directors voted unanimously in 2002 to bestow upon Mary Milligan the status of Honorary Alumna of Ohio Wesleyan University in recognition of her many years of service to and support of the University.  Along with her late husband, Robert L. “Bill” Milligan, a graduate of the class of 1922 and a longtime OWU trustee, Mary has demonstrated her devotion to the university in many ways, including the establishment of the lecture series that bears her husband’s name. This program is just one illustration of her dedication to the life of the school and to the concept of providing students with exposure to great leaders of the business world.  We are pleased to have her as a member of the inner circle of the Ohio Wesleyan family.
